The first segment of an occasional series that lets the Geeks bring their latest adventures to you. In this round of On Location, Tuck (with local camera man Rob) are with a few other shy geeks at the Crossgates Mall in Albany, NY. The reason: The pre-premiere day launch of the Star Trek movie, which the team got to see in glorious IMAX. Tuck talks about the Star Trek branded Playmates toys, and then quickly reviews the movie.

Remember when we released that Geeks With Issues/Bytejacker Exclusive first interview with David Price, the holder of the Guinness Book of World Records high score in TMNT: Turtles In Time? And remember how we said that David is also the host of Black 20′s The Middle Show? Well, it seems that The Middle Show was on location doing a piece for New York Comic Con too. While the coverage is quite different from the sort of thing we usually show here on GwI, I did want to share this clip for one fairly amusing reason: Geek Hunting. Specifically, I wanted to revisit my childhood days of “Where’s Waldo” with a special twist – instead of the red-capped glasses wearing wanderer, I challenge you to find GwI Media Liaison Megan Carlotta. She’s in there…can you guess where? Perhaps you’ve already seen where before…

NY Comic Con: Riddle Me This, True Believers…

So…I wonder, True Believers…what is the importance of this image below to the Geeks With Issues coverage of the New York Comic Convention?

Batman?

That’s Batman the Animated Series, right?  Of course, that’s easy.  Batman’s a comic character, and we’re at a convention for comics.  Give you something challenging, right?  Well, how does that image directly correlate to this one:

Penny Arcade?

Penny Arcade?  Huh…they both have comic origins.  They are both quite popular with the Geek crowd.  But one of them is an animation, while one is a straight comic.  The corralation is beginning to stretch, especially since we’re talking about the Geeks With Issues coverage, and not just panels or events at the Con.  Well, how about this little clue:

Steve Sansweet?

That’s Steve Sansweet, Head of Fan Relations at Lucasfilms.  What do Batman the Animated Series, Penny Arcade and Steve Sansweet have to do with the Geeks With Issues coverage of the NY Comic Con 2009?

All three are the topic of interviews done by the Geeks.  Sansweet, Penny Arcade creators Mike “Gabe” Krahulik & Jerry “Tycho” Holkins and Batman the Animated Series creator Bruce Timm all had a chance to sit down with our on-location Geeks for an interview!  How’s that for coverage, people?

So, when do you see all of this magical content?  Especially since you’re still waiting for that awesome stuff from the New York Anime Festival?  Well, there’s good news and bad news.  The bad news is that the offical, full length episodes aren’t coming out until March, as we’re trying to roll out the NYAF episodes in February.  The good news is that pieces of our interview, stripped to the bear bones, will be available on this very website, along with other awesome Geeks Go To Comic Con 2009 content, all of the upcoming week!

So, as always, stay tuned, True Believers.  Because anything that’s awesome enough to make me come out of my pre-fatherhood related exile has got to be good.  And trust me, it is.
